Description
This Standard sets out a spectrophotometric method for the determination of aluminium in steel. It is applicable to all steels with aluminium content in the range 0.002% to 1.4% aluminium.
The method uses a mercury cathode, followed by solvent extraction to separate interfering elements, with alizarin red S to produce a chromogen which is measured at a wavelength of 490 nm.
