Description
BS EN 54 is a European Standard on fire detection and fire alarm systems. It aims to establish operationally efficient safety equipment and systems that play a positive role during a fire emergency.
The 27th part of multi-series that specifies requirements, test methods, and performance criteria for fire detectors that detect smoke in air ducts in buildings as a part of fire detection and fire alarm system or as an actuator for a fire protection system.
Certain types of detectors contain radioactive materials. The national requirements for radiation protection differ from one member state to another and are not specified in this BS EN 54-27.
