Description
This Standard describes the causes of light loss in indoor electric lighting systems, from environmental, operating and age related conditions, recommends procedures for estimating maintenance factors for use in design calculations and examines the strategies to reverse and compensate for this loss.
Sets out procedures for the estimation of appropriate maintenance factors to make allowance for light losses in design calculations, and for the determination of economic maintenance regimes and cycles.
Also advises on the selection of appropriate lighting equipment and on servicing techniques to promote the longevity of systems and minimize maintenance requirements.
Scope
The Standard also provides information to assist in the maintenance and servicing of the lighting systems and equipment.
This Standard is supplementary to and should be read in conjunction with the general recommendations of AS 1680.1.
