Description
The CoP IWAM is applicable to internal wet-area waterproof membrane systems, including their substrates, for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries within buildings.
The purpose of this Code of Practice is to:
- Assist Designers to select the optimum membrane for a given situation
- Provide the optimum design methodology for a given situation
- Provide installation provisions that will result in building work that involves internal wet-area waterproof membrane systems meeting or exceeding the minimum requirements of relevant sub-clauses of the NZ Building Code (NZBC) clause E3, Internal moisture.
Scope
Facilities such as industrial processing areas (for instance a cowshed or an industrial food making facility), or the surrounds and changing facilities of internal swimming pools or spas, are outside the CoP IWAM scope.
