Description
Guidelines for cable installers and home owners when installing and connecting to telecommunications services within a premises.
This is a set of recommendations for the planning, installing and maintaining of premises wiring that will deliver good long-term telecommunication service performance and reliability for New Zealand consumers.

The Installer Guidelines are supported by a easy to read factsheet that provides guidance for cable installers and electricians on the wiring requirements within a premises and access to telecommunications services.
An easy to read factsheet is also available for homeowners to inform them of the telecommunications requirements they need to think about within their home e.g. WiFi, access points, modem and ONT placements.
Purpose:
To ensure premises have good long-term performance and reliability of telecommunications services for consumers by setting out best practice principles that parties involved in the design, installation and maintenance of generic cabling and facilities should adhere to.
