Description
This Standard specifies requirements for two grades of whiteheart malleable iron castings, two grades of blackheart malleable iron castings and four grades of pearlitic malleable iron castings in terms of mechanical properties, microstructure and freedom from defects. An appendix provides guidelines to purchasers of castings to this Standard.
Scope
This standard specifies requirements for malleable iron castings, as follows, in terms of mechanical properties:
- (a) Two grades of whiteheart malleable iron castings.
- (b) Two grades of blackheart malleable iron castings.
- (c) Four grades of pearlitic malleable iron castings.
Note: Guidelines to purchasers on requirements that must be specified by the purchaser and those that must be agreed at the time of enquiry and/or order are given in Appendix A.
