Description
This standard describes the general physical and chemical methods for testing natural and synthetic rubber products for conformance with the requirements of Federal specifications. It was prepared in order to climate unnecessary or undesirable variations in the general sampling and testing procedures.
Scope
This standard does not include special test methods applicable to certain natural and synthetic rubber products that are described in the appropriate detail specification, nor does it include all the test methods for natural and synthetic rubber materials used in industry. In the case of conflict between the provisions of these methods and those of the individual test procedures in specifications for particular materials, the latter shall take precedence.
