Description
Residential and light commercial external wall cladding system for use with timber or light steel framing.
The BBS Timbers™ Weatherboard System consists of:
- Radiata Pine H3.2 and Western Red Cedar Bevel-back weatherboard cavity
- Radiata Pine H3.2 and Western Red Cedar Rusticated weatherboard cavity
- Radiata Pine H3.2 and Western Red Cedar Vertical Shiplap weatherboard cavity.
Using the following components: fixings, battens, scribers, internal and external corners, cavity closures (internal and external under flashings) and sealants.
Scope
1. The BBS Timbers™ Weatherboard System is certified for use on:
- a) timber-framed buildings designed and constructed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings, and;
- b) within the scope of Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 Paragraph 1.1.1, and;
- c) where the risk score is 0-20 (as defined in Tables 3.1.2.1, 3.1.3.1 and 3.1.3.2 of Acceptable Solution E2/AS1), and;
- d) located in any exposure zone (as defined in NZS3604) except microclimates, and;
- e) located 1m or more from a relevant boundary.
2. The BBS Timbers™ Weatherboard System shall be installed:
- a) in accordance with the BBS installation manuals and drawing sets:
- i) Bevel back Cavity Wrap System Installation Manual Version 3.2 Radiata Pine/Western Red Cedar, 15 December 2025.
- ii) Rusticated Cavity Wrap System Installation Manual Version 3.2 Radiata Pine/Western Red Cedar, 15 December 2025.
- iii) Vertical Shiplap Cavity Wrap System Installation Manual Version 3.2 Radiata Pine/Western Red Cedar, 15 December 2025.
- b) with wall underlay as specified in accordance with E2/AS1, and;
- c) with aluminium framed window and door joinery complying with NZS 4211:2008- Specification for performance of windows.
3. Fixings are to be stainless steel or silicon bronze when exposed and galvanised or stainless steel for cavity battens, aligning with table C.1.1.1A of E2/AS1.
