Trex® Decking boards are intended for use as outdoor decking.
Trex® Decking products are wood plastic composite (WPC) outdoor decking products. Comprised of Deck boards and Fasteners. Available in 24mm x 140mm cross section in both Grooved-edge as well as 'Square-edge’ style and 33mm x 140mm Square-Edge.
The boards are available in multiple lengths ranging from 2400 mm to 4880mm.
The boards are available in various colours in either in smooth or embossing surface treatment.
Scope
1. Trex® Decking is certified for use:
- a) as outdoor decking over structural framing, including access routes (and accessible routes) where a slip-resistant surface is required and
- b) for stairs and for ramps not steeper than 1:12 and
- c) where the maximum UDL load does not exceed 2kPa, and
- d) with a maximum span of:
- i. 450 mm on a framed substructure and be continuous over minimum two spans 24mm x 140mm.
- ii. 600 mm on a framed substructure and be continuous over minimum two spans 33mm x 140mm.
2. Deck framing shall be in accordance with NZS 3604 or be designed specifically in accordance with NZS 3603 and AS/NZS 1170.
3. Trex® Decking shall be installed:
- a) in accordance with Installation manual 2025 AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND DECKING INSTALLATION GUIDE 0325 XDLTASTRIG2025
- b) with a 12 mm minimum clearance gap between the building cladding and decking as per the requirements of E2/AS1 Paragraph 7.2.2.2
4. Trex® Decking is certified for use in any exposure zone as specified in NZS3604 para 4.2.4 (except microclimates).
