Description
Ardex WPM 715 is used as a trafficable, single layer membrane in horizontal or vertical applications for waterproofing decks and roofs.
Ardex WPM 1000 is designed to be used as an external waterproofing membrane for directly adhered tiled surfaces or for other non-exposed use.
It is also suitable for use with specified ARDEX tile adhesives in domestic and commercial locations over most common substrates.
Ardex WPM 715 is a 1.5 mm weldable external waterproofing membrane system with properties which resist ageing from heat, sunlight and ozone. It has properties for gas impermeability, flexibility at low temperatures and is suitable in all climatic zones. Ardex WPM 715 is also suitable for use in an area requiring foot traffic.
Ardex WPM 1000 is a fleece-lined waterproofing sheet membrane system formulated for the direct adhesion of tiled systems or for other nonexposed use. Ardex WPM 1000 is heat-welded at laps and seams to create a bond, consistent gauge. Ardex WPM 1000 has properties of flexibility, durability, and resistance to tearing, cracking, bubbling and absorption.
Scope
1. Installation shall be undertaken in accordance with the information contained in the Ardex installation documents:
- a) Ardex WPM 715 1.5 mm Weldable Roofing Membrane, August 2019.
- b) Ardex WPM 1000 External Weldable Undertile Sheet Membrane, July 2019.
- c) Ardex Substrate Specifications for External Membrane Applications, October 2018.
- d) Ardex WELDTEC Waterproofing Membranes, 15 September 2025.
2. Installation shall be undertaken by a suitably qualified tradesman, having completed an Ardex training programme: for further details refer to https://www.ardex.co.nz/services/applicators-installers-stockists.
3. Ardex WPM 1000 shall only be adhered with Ardex WA 98 in accordance with the Ardex WPM 1000 product installation documentation listed in 1. above.
4. Ardex ST Tapes shall be used for detailing or reinforcement as defined in Ardex Weldtec product installation document listed in 1 d) above
5. Ardex WPM 715 and WPM 1000 Systems may be used where the minimum gradient of the substrate structure is completely flat (less than 1:80) including nominally zero pitch, when used with:
- a) Timber substrate structures designed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 as a heavy roof, provided the mastic asphalt membrane does not exceed 22 mm.
- b) Plywood sheets CCA (Copper Chrome Arsenic) treated to H3.2. The Plywood shall be a minimum of 17 mm thickness complying with AS/NZS 2269.0:2012.
- c) Concrete and other specifically designed substrates designed in accordance with verification method B1/VM1 using the structural design actions in AS/NZS1170.1:2002
6. The design and construction of the substrate and movement and control joints is specific to each building and is outside the scope of this certificate.
7. Ardex WPM 715 and WPM 1000 shall be stored in clean, dry conditions, between 5°C and 30°C, out of direct sunlight, away from sources of puncture and physical damage and away from ignition sources and open flame.
8. The weather tightness design of all junctions on specifically designed buildings is outside the scope of this certificate.
