Description
Casali Dermabit/Dermafil torch-on membrane system is a waterproofing system for new and existing roofs, podiums, decks and parapets.
Roofs with the Casali Dermabit/Dermafil torch-on membrane system may be used to harvest potable water.
The Casali Dermabit/Dermafil Torch-on Roof and Deck system is a two-layer torch-applied, polyester-reinforced amorphous-poly-alpha-olefin (APAO) modified / Atactic Polypropylene (APP) bitumen roof waterproofing membrane with a slate chip finished upper surface and a thermofusible thermoplastic film on the lower surface.
The two layers consist of a 3mm thick Basesheet which is torch-applied or self-adhered to a primed substrate, and a 4mm coloured ceramic-chip Cap-sheet.

- Aderix SS Polyester 2.5mm PE – It is supplied in rolls 1m width x 15m length.
Capsheet
- Casali Dermabit Extra 43170 Ardesiato (Slated) - It is supplied in 1 m x 8 m rolls.
- Casali Dermafil (Slated) - It is supplied in 1 m x 10 m rolls.
- Aderix AS SP Polyester 4.5kg Mineral –it is supplied in 1 m x 10 m rolls.
Scope
1.The Casali Dermabit/Dermafil Torch-on Roof and Deck system is certified for use on buildings:
- a) where the sub-structure is:
- i. timber framed designed in accordance with NZS3604 (as a light roof where used as roof membrane); or
- ii. steel framed designed in accordance with NASH 2 (as a light roof where used as roof membrane); or
- iii. concrete or other specifically designed sub-structure designed in accordance with verification method B1/VM1 using the structural design actions in AS/NZS1170; and
- b) situated:
- i. in Wind Zones, up to, and including, Extra High (as defined in NZS 3604), and within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 para 1.1 with regards to building height; or
- ii. in wind pressures up to a maximum design differential ultimate limit state (ULS) of 6 kPa; and
- iii. in any expose zone (as defined in NZS3604) except microclimates, and
- c) where the substrate for the membrane is:
- i. plywood (CCA H3.2 treated) or
- ii. Concrete (cast in-situ or pre-cast) or
- iii. Fibre cement compressed sheet, and
- d) where the roof or deck is pitched or nominally flat (1:80 minimum, finished) and gutters have a minimum fall of 1:100.
2.The Casali Dermabit/Dermafil Torch-on Roof and Deck system shall:
- a) be designed and installed in accordance with the Allco Torch-on Details and Installation Guide Sept 2024 and the details set out in the Allco Waterproofing Solutions Ltd Casali Dermabit/Dermafil Roof and Deck Membrane Systems Technical Details, V1.0 December 2022, and
- b) be installed by Allco Waterproofing Solutions Ltd (contact certificate holder for list of approved applicators), and
- c) be separated or protected from heat sources such as fireplaces, heating appliances and chimneys, and
- d) be protected from physical damage by a pedestal protection system or other means where the where the membrane is on a trafficable area of a roof or deck and subject to pedestrian traffic other than for installation and general maintenance.
3.This certification does not include:
- a) the design and construction of the substrate and movement / control joints, or
- b) the weather tightness design of junctions between building elements on specifically designed buildings.
- c) applications where ancillary components other than those provided by Allco Waterproofing Solutions Ltd listed in this certificate are substituted with alternative products, or
- d) integral roof gardens, steps within the deck level and direct downpipe discharge to the roof level.
