Viking Enviroclad “Sure-Weld TPO” Roof & Deck Waterproofing System is intended to be adhesive bonded or mechanically fixed as waterproofing for roofs, decks, parapets and to line gutters. It may also be installed on a cold roof with insulation installed below the substrate or as a warm roof with insulation installed above the substrate.
Scope
1. Viking Enviroclad “Sure-Weld TPO” Waterproofing Membrane is certified for use on buildings:
- a) where the sub-structure is:
- i. timber designed in accordance with NZS3604 as a light roof; or
- ii. concrete or other specifically designed sub-structure designed in accordance with verification method B1/VM1 using the structural design actions in AS/NZS1170; and
- b) situated:
- i. in Wind Zones, up to, and including Extra High (as defined in NZS 3604), and within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 para 1.1 with regards to building height; or
- ii. in wind pressures up to a maximum design differential ultimate limit state (ULS) of:
- a. 6.5 kPa when fully bonded; or
- b. 2.7 kPa when fixed using either of the mechanical fastening methods (HP-X Fasteners and Piranha Plates or Rhino Bond System), and
- iii. in any exposure zone (as defined in NZS3604) except microclimates; and
- c) where the substrate for the membrane is:
- i. timber or plywood (CCA or MCA H3.2 treated)
- ii. OSB (except on decks)
- iii. Concrete (cast in-situ or pre-cast (directly or with PIR Boards between)
- iv. Metal tray decks with PIR boards between; and
- d) where the roof or deck is pitched or nominally flat (minimum fall 1:80) and gutters have a minimum fall of 1:100.
2. Viking Enviroclad “Sure-Weld TPO” Waterproofing Membrane shall:
- a) be designed and installed in accordance with the Viking Enviroclad Applicator Handbook VK Edition V4 2024 and Details, and
- b) be installed by Viking Approved Applicator /Approved installer (see https://www.vikingroofspec.co.nz/find-an-applicator/ to find an approved installer), and
- c) be protected where the membrane is subject to pedestrian traffic other than for installation and general maintenance, and
- d) be separated or protected from heat sources such as fireplaces, heating appliances and chimneys.
3. This certification does not cover:
- a) the design and construction of the substrate and movement / control joints;
- b) the weather tightness design of junctions between building elements on specifically designed buildings;
- c) applications where ancillary components other than those provided by Viking Roofspec Limited listed in the installation manual are substituted with alternative products;
- d) PIR insulation incorporated into warm roof construction.
