Description
Johns Manville TPO Membrane is intended to be adhesively bonded as waterproofing for roofs, decks and parapets, and to line gutters. Roofs
with Johns Manville TPO Membrane may be used to harvest potable water.
Johns Manville TPO Membrane is a single-ply, polyester fabric reinforced, thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) fully bonded waterproofing sheet membrane for roofs and decks, supplied coloured white or grey, in:
- 1.14 mm thick x 1.52 m x 30.48 m, 2.44 x 30.48 m, and 3.04 x 30.48 m rolls
- 1.5 mm x 1.52 x 30.48 m, 2.44 x 30.48 m, and 3.04 x 30.48 m rolls
- 2 mm thick x 1.52 x 22.86 m, 2.44 x 22.86 m, and 3.04 x 22.86 m rolls
It is also available fleece-backed coloured white or grey, in:
- 2.9 mm thick x 3.05 m x 15.24 m rolls
- 3.4 mm thick x 3.05 m x 15.24 m rolls
Scope
1. Johns Manville TPO Membrane is certified for use on buildings:
- a) where the sub-structure is:
- i. timber designed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 as a light roof, or
- ii. concrete or other specifically designed sub-structure designed in accordance with verification method B1/VM1 (Amendment 15) using the structural design actions in AS/NZS1170:2002, and
- b) situated:
- i. in Wind Zones, up to, and including Extra High (as defined in NZS 3604:2011), and within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 Third Edition including amendment 10 para 1.1 with regards to building height, or in wind pressures up to a maximum design differential ultimate limit state (ULS) of 6 kPa, and
- c) where the substrate for the membrane is:
- i. Plywood (CCA H3.2 treated), or
- ii. Strandsarking (roofs only), or
- iii. Concrete (cast in-situ or pre-cast), and
- d) where the minimum falls are 1:30 for roofs (1:60 for concrete roofs), 1:40 for decks and 1:100 for gutters, and
- e) where the membrane is subject to pedestrian traffic other than for installation and general maintenance, protection is provided to the membrane.
2. Johns Manville TPO Membrane shall:
- a) be designed and installed in accordance with the JM TPO Installation Guide, and
- b) be installed by Allco Waterproofing Solutions Ltd approved applicators (contact certificate holder for list of approved applicators), and
- c) be separated or protected from heat sources such as fireplaces, heating appliances and chimneys.
3. This certification does not include:
- a) the design and construction of the substrate and movement / control joints
- b) the weather tightness design of junctions between building elements on specifically designed buildings
- c) applications where ancillary components other than those provided by Allco Waterproofing Solutions Ltd listed in the installation guide are substituted with alternative products.
