Description

Nuraply TPO Waterproofing Membrane is a single-ply polyester fabric reinforced thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membrane. It is grey (and white by indent) and supplied in:

• 1.50mm thick x 3.05m wide x 30.48m long rolls
• 1.50mm thick x 3.65m wide x 30.48m long rolls
• 1.14mm thick x 3.05m wide x 30.48m long rolls

It is also available fleece-backed in 1.50mm thick x 3.0m wide x 30.48m long rolls.

Nuraply TPO Waterproofing Membrane is intended to be adhesive bonded or mechanically fixed as waterproofing for roofs, decks parapets and to line gutters.

It may also be installed on a cold roof with insulation installed below the substrate or as a warm roof (known as Nuratherm) with Nuratherm Insulation installed above the substrate. Roofs with Nuraply TPO Waterproofing Membrane may be used to harvest potable water.

Scope

1. Nuraply TPO Waterproofing Membrane is certified for use on buildings:

• a. where the sub-structure is:
  • i. timber designed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 as a light roof, or
  • ii. concrete or other specifically designed sub-structure designed in accordance with verification method B1/VM1 (Amendment 15) using the structural design actions in AS/NZS1170:2002, and
• b. situated:
  • i. in Wind Zones, up to, and including Extra High (as defined in NZS 3604:2011), and within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 Third Edition including amendment 10 para 1.1 with regards to building height, or
  • ii. in wind pressures up to a maximum design differential ultimate limit state (ULS) of 6 kPa, and
• c. where the substrate for the membrane is:
  • i. timber or plywood (CCA or MCA H3.2 treated), or
  • ii. OSB (except on decks), or
  • iii. Concrete (cast in-situ or pre-cast), or
  • iv. Metal - aluminium or steel (including composite roofing panels), or
  • v. Nuratherm PIR Boards (which may be fixed to NPM 900 or other metal tray decks), or
  • vi. RAB boards such as fibre cement sheeting, plywood, gypsum boards when those are used as an upstand behind cladding, and
• d. where the roof or deck is pitched or nominally flat (1:80) and gutters have a minimum fall of 1:100, and
• e. where the membrane is subject to pedestrian traffic other than for installation and general maintenance protection provided to the membrane.

2. Nuraply TPO Waterproofing Membrane shall:

• a. be designed and installed in accordance with the Nuraply TPO Roofing Membrane Installation Manual, 2024 Edition 1.2, and
• b. be installed by Nuralite Waterproofing Ltd approved applicators (contact certificate holder for list of approved applicators), and
• c. be separated or protected from heat sources such as fireplaces, heating appliances and chimneys.

3. This certification does not include:

• a. the design and construction of the substrate and movement / control joints
• b. the weather tightness design of junctions between building elements on specifically designed buildings
• c. applications where ancillary components other than those provided by Nuralite Waterproofing Ltd listed in the installation manual are substituted with alternative products.
