Description
ProctorPassive Rainscreen with Integrated Tape (RS-IT) is a two-layer membrane consisting of a spun-bonded polyester layer with a functional coating that offers improved resistance against UV and high temperatures up to 120°C. It is coloured black (top layer) and dark grey, and supplied in rolls 1.5 m x 35 m.
ProctorPassive RS-IT is a vapour permeable membrane for use behind:
- a. closed joint and face sealed façades, or
- b. vertical wall ventilated rainscreen façades utilising open joint and perforated cladding where long term exposure to UV through open joints and perforations is expected, or
- c. as underlay under metal roofing.
Scope
ProctorPassive RS-IT is certified for use with buildings:
- a) designed and constructed to:
- i. NZS3604 and located in wind zones up to and including Extra High (as defined in NZS3604) or
- ii.NZS3603 and AS/NZS 1170 with a maximum 6 kPa wind design pressure (ULS), and
- b) with the following claddings:
- i. closed joint face sealed absorbent or non-absorbent directly fixed over a nominal 20 mm or more drained and ventilated cavity, or
- ii. open joint rain screen installed over a nominal 20 mm or more drained cavity, provided the joint openings in the façade covering are less than 30% of the area, and maximum 30 mm wide, and
- c) located in any exposure zone except microclimates (as defined in NZS3604).
2. ProctorPassive RS-IT shall:
- a) be installed in accordance with the ProctorPassive RS-IT Installation Guide, June 2021, and
- b) not be exposed to the weather or direct sunlight for more than 9 months (4 months where installing an open joint cladding) during construction.
3. Contribution to compliance with Building Code clause H1.3.1(b) is conditional on the element incorporating ProctorPassive RS-IT being part of the thermal envelope of the building.
