Description
CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber is kiln-dried solid timber treated with Protim Micro in structural grades SG6, SG8, SG10 and SG12. It is available in standard sawn sizes (25 to 290mm width) or in custom sizes upon request. Solid timber cavity battens and castellated cavity battens are also available in prescribed profiles.
Each length of timber is marked with the structural grade and reference to NZS 3622:2004 "Verification of Timber Properties", branding of the structural grading verification company (e.g. Grade Verified) and the name of the sawmill.
Each length of timber is end-tagged CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber, mill (e.g. 131), treatment code (88) and Hazard Class (H3.2) and the CodeMark mark of conformity and number (CMNZ70157).
CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber is intended for use as a structural component in buildings in applications where the hazard class of the exposure and service conditions where the component is located is H3.2 or less (as defined in NZS3640 Table 3.1).
Scope
1. CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber is certified for use in buildings:
- a) as specified in NZS3604:2011 or
- b) as specified by engineering design in accordance with B1/VM1 and referenced standards AS/NZS 1170 and NZS3603, and
- c) where the hazard class of the exposure and service conditions where the component is located is H3.2 or less (as defined in NZS3640 Table 3.1), and
- d) the use is in accordance with the marked stress grade.
2. CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber shall be used in accordance with the Installation Guide for Protim Micro Treated Wood Products v1, 19 January 2024.
3. CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber Cavity Battens shall not be in direct contact with metal wall cladding.
4. Steel fixings and fasteners in contact with CORE Codemark Protim Micro Dryframe Structural Timber shall be in accordance with NZS3604:2011 Tables 4.1 and 4.3, and shall be a minimum of:
- a) Type 304 stainless steel where used in Exposed or Sheltered locations (as defined in NZS3604:2011) or
- b) Hot-dipped galvanised steel for all other locations.
