Description
Barricade WD Self-Adhesive Weather-Resistive Barrier is a self-adhesive building wrap for application to rigid substrates to form a weather-resistive barrier that excludes air and water, whilst allowing water vapour to pass. It does not require Z flashings or tape at joints.
Barricade WD Self-Adhesive Weather-Resistive Barrier is a heavy-duty, tri-laminate non-woven polypropylene wrap coated with polyacrylic pressure-sensitive self-adhesive and backing release film. It is supplied in 50m2 rolls;1.46m wide by 31.14m long.
Scope
1. Masons Barricade WD Self-Adhesive Weather-Resistive Barrier is certified for use with buildings:
- a) designed and constructed to:
- i) NZS3604 and located in wind zones up to and including Extra High (as defined in NZS3604) or
- ii) NZS3603 and AS/NZS 1170 with a maximum wind design pressure (ULS) limited by the capacity of the substrate to which Masons Barricade WD is applied, and
- b) with the following claddings:
- i) absorbent or non-absorbent wall claddings directly fixed, or
- ii) absorbent or non-absorbent wall claddings installed over a nominal 20 mm or more drained cavity, or
- iii) masonry veneer in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, and
- c) located in any exposure zone except microclimates (as defined in NZS3604), and
- d) applied to the following substrates: plywood, fibre cement sheet, timber, OSB board, smooth dense EPS and XPS board
2. Masons Barricade WD Self-Adhesive Weather-Resistive Barrier shall:
- a) be installed in accordance with the Masons Barricade WD Installation Guide V1.0 August 2022, and
- b) not be exposed to the weather or direct sunlight for more than 150 days during construction.
3. Contribution to compliance with Building Code clause H1.3.1(b) is conditional on the element incorporating Masons Barricade WD being part of the thermal envelope of the building.
