Description

The Biowood Shiplap Weatherboards, Castellated profile Claddings and Soffit Systems (BSWCS) are intended for use as external cladding, screening, louvres and soffits.

The GRM Biowood Shiplap Weatherboards, Castellated profile Claddings and Soffit Systems (BSWCS) are a range of exterior cladding elements, manufactured from a proprietary plastic wood composite material. They are attached to the framing of a building over a nominal 20 mm drained and ventilated cavity.

The BSCWS product range includes Castellated Façade boards and Outdoor Wall Panel Shiplap boards in a range of widths, and in 5850mm lengths.

Scope

1. The Biowood Shiplap Weatherboards, Castellated profile Claddings and Soffit Systems (BSWCS) is certified for buildings:

• a. with walls designed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings, as modified by Acceptable Solution B1/AS1, Amendment 20 and within the scope of Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Third Edition Amendment 10 5 November 2020 Paragraph 1.1, or of at least equivalent stiffness to the framing provisions of NZS3604:2011, and situated in Wind Zones (as defined in NZS 3604:2011) up to and including Extra High; or
• b. subject to specific engineering design in accordance with Verification Method B1/VM1 Amendment 20 up to a maximum design differential ultimate limit state (ULS) wind pressure of 2.5 kPa, and
• c. up to 10 m in height, and
• d. with a risk score of 0-20, calculated in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Third Edition, Amendment 10, 5 November 2020 Table 2, and
• e. situated:
  
  • i. in all exposure zones (excluding microclimates) as defined in NZS3604:2011, Paragraph 4.2.4, and
  • ii. more than 1m from a relevant boundary.

2. The Biowood Shiplap Weatherboards, Castellated profile Claddings and Soffit Systems (BSWCS) shall be designed, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the relevant installation manual as listed in section 9 of this certificate

3. The wall underlay forming the ventilated cavity shall comply with the requirements for wall underlays specified in NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Third Edition (including amendment 10), 5 November 2020

4. Biowood Shiplap Weatherboards, Castellated profile Claddings and Soffit Systems (BSWCS) shall only be installed:

• a. on vertical, flat surfaces, and
• b. using stainless steel fixings

5. Only aluminium window and door joinery meeting the requirements of NZS 4211:2008 (including Amendment1) for the relevant Wind Zone or wind pressure and installed with vertical jambs and horizontal heads and sills shall be used with the Biowood Shiplap Weatherboards, Castellated profile Claddings and Soffit Systems (BSWCS).
