Description
KLC “Generation 2” H3.2 Exterior Cladding Systems components are finger jointed timber products treated to H3.2 and consist of the following profiles:
- Horizontal Bevelback - 230 x 18, 215 x 18, 187 x 18, 180 x 18, 142 x 18, 135 x 18, 142 x 21mm (on request)
- Horizontal Rebated Bevelback - 142 x 18, 135 x 18mm
- Horizontal Rusticated (incl. Hawkes Bay and Wellington profiles) – 230 x 18, 215 x 18, 180 x 18, 135 x 18mm
- Vertical Shiplap – 180 x 18, 135 x 18mm
- Vertical Board and Batten – 180 x 18mm board, 65 x 18mm batten
And components:
- Fascia in 135, 180, 230, 280 x18mm and 135, 180, 230, 280 x 29mm
- Vertical Cavity battens in 45 x 20mm
- Box Corners in 85 x 18 and 100 x 18mm (internal and external)
- D4S 40, 65, 90, 115, 135, 180, 230, 280 x 18m
KLC “Generation 2” H3.2 Exterior Cladding Systems are designed for use as cladding and finishing systems.
Scope
Subject to the following conditions and limitations:
1. KLC “Generation 2” H3.2 Exterior Cladding Systems are certified for use in buildings:
- a) within the scope of NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings, and
- b) with risk score (as determined using the E2/AS1 risk matrix) as set out in Conditions 2 - 4.
2. Vertical Shiplap profiles are certified for risk score 0 – 6 when direct fixed and for risk score 0 – 20 when fixed over a nominal 20mm drained and ventilated cavity.
3. Vertical Board and Batten are certified for risk score 0 -12 when direct fixed and for risk score 0 – 20 when fixed over a nominal 20mm drained and ventilated cavity.
4. The use for other profiles shall be determined using Table 3 of E2/AS1.
5. The KLC Generation 2 Weatherboard & Fascia shall be:
- a) installed in accordance with the applicable Installation Manual:
- Bevel Back Weatherboard Direct Fix and Installation Manual (V6, 30 September 2020)
- Bevel Back Weatherboard Cavity Fix and Installation Manual (V7, 22 February 2022)
- Rusticated Weatherboard Installation Guide (V4, 30 September 2020)
- Vertical Shiplap Weatherboard Installation Guide (V3, 30 September 2020)
- Board & Batten Weatherboard Installation Guide (V2, 30 September 2020)
- b) painted using a light colour (above the recommended 45LRV) and maintained as per the relevant installation guide.
