Description
The SmartClad™ Weatherboard System is an exterior wall cladding system for timber-framed buildings.
The SmartClad™ Weatherboard System consists of H3.1 LOSP treated finger jointed bevelback weatherboards using a fixing clip for either direct or cavity fixing.
The components of the system include:
- SmartClad™ Weatherboards 18 x 140mm, 18 x 185mm
- SmartClad™ Starter Boards 30 x 140mm, 30 x 185mm
- SmartClip™ - 40 x 10mm ABS fixing clip
- SmartClad™ Screws – stainless steel or galvanized 65mm x 8 gauge
- SmartClad™ Pre-shaped Scriber 40 x 10mm, Pre-shaped Facing 66 x 34mm, Box Corner 100/88 x 34mm, Eaves Moulding 40 x 27mm,
- Sill 55 x 42mm, Internal Corner Scriber 36 x 36mm, Joint & Corner Soakers 150/200 x 49mm
Scope
1. The SmartClad™ Weatherboard System is certified for use on buildings:
- a) within the scope of NZS3604:2011 and
- b) within the scope of E2/AS1 para 1.1, and
- c) located in wind zone (as defined in NZS3604) up to and including:
- i) Very High when direct fixed
- ii) Extra High when fixed over a nominal 20mm cavity, and
- d) located in any exposure zone as defined in NZS3604 para 4.2.4 (except microclimates), and
- e) located no closer than 1m from a relevant boundary.
2. SmartClad™ Weatherboard System shall be:
- a) fixed over a nominal 20mm cavity where the Risk Score as determined by E2/AS1 Table 3 is 13 or greater, and
- b) installed in accordance with the SmartClad™ Technical Manual Version 10.15, and
- c) painted in a light colour (with a light reflective value (LRV) greater than or equal to 45%)
