Description
The Abodo Weatherboard Cladding System consists of weatherboards fixed to cavity battens forming a drained cavity. Weatherboard profiles include Bevelback, Vertical Shiplap, Rusticated and Secret fixing. The weatherboards are available with a smooth dressed face (for a paint finish) or a light band sawn or brushed face (for a stain finish) and manufactured from a range of materials:
- Sand – H3.2 treated radiata pine
- Vulcan – thermally modified radiata pine
- Stratos – Azole treated radiata pine (H3.1)
- Tundra – Douglas fir heart wood
Abodo Weatherboard Cladding Systems are exterior wall claddings for use over a drained cavity.
Scope
1. The Abodo Weatherboard Cladding System is certified for use in buildings with a cavity:
- a. designed to either
- i. NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings, or
- ii. NASH Standard Part 2: May 2019 Light Steel Framed Buildings, and
- b. within the scope of of Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 para 1.1, and
- c. with a risk score not greater than 20, and
- d. with a rigid underlay:
- i. In all locations designated as Extra High Zone and above, or
- ii. When used in external walls of unlined attached garages and,
- e. situated:
- i. in all exposure zones (excluding microclimates) as defined in NZS3604:2011, Paragraph 4.2.4, and
- ii. more than 1m from a relevant boundary, and
- f. with joinery meeting the requirements of NZS 4211:2008 Specification for performance of Windows, and
- g. with Stainless steel, copper or silicon bronze fixings in ACQ or Cu azole treated weatherboards (i.e. Sand).
2. The Abodo Weatherboard Cladding System shall be installed in accordance with Abodo CodeMark Weatherboard Cladding Manual April 2020.
