Description

IBS RigidRAP® is an 8mm OSB panel product faced with a laminated synthetic building wrap.

IBS RigidRAP® is a rigid air barrier and bracing element and provides temporary protection from the weather during construction. It is suitable  for use on new and existing timber framed buildings founded on either a concrete floor slab or timber subfloor. When all joints are sealed with a flashing tape, no flexible wall underlay is required.

Scope

1. IBS RigidRAP® is certified for use with buildings:

• a) designed and constructed to:
  
  • i) NZS3604 and located in wind zones up to and including Extra High (as defined in NZS3604 ) or
  • ii) NZS3603: and AS/NZS 1170 with a maximum wind design pressure (ULS) of 2.5 kPa or
  • iii) in existing buildings where the specifier and installer have assured themselves that the existing structure is adequate for the intended use; and
• b) where the cladding system incorporates a ventilated cavity and wall cladding that complies with E2/AS1 or a Product Certificate (CodeMark) where its use complies the conditions of that Certificate.

2. IBS RigidRAP® shall:

• a) be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's installation guide IBS RigidRAP® Installation Guide, April 2024, (and only with the flashing tapes specified in the installation guide), and
• b) not be exposed to the weather or ultraviolet light for more than 90 days during construction.
