Description
The FPS Weathertight System is a membrane underlay for roof and wall applications. The components of the system are listed in Section 10
The FPS Weathertight System is used in wall and roof applications on timber and steel frame panel construction. It also provides interim protection from the weather for up to 90 days.
Scope
1. The FPS Weathertight System is certified for use on timber frame, light-steel frame and panel construction buildings:
- a) within the height scope of Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 para 1.1(a) and;
- b) located in Wind Zones as specified in Section 12 (Supporting information about conditions and limitations of use) and;
- c) where the wall cladding system (when used as a wall underlay):
- a. is not open-jointed (i.e. cladding that does not have joints that allow rainwater to penetrate the cladding or expose the underlay or air barrier to UV);
- b. incorporates an 18 mm drained and ventilated cavity, and;
- d) where the roof cladding complies with E2/AS1 (when used as a roof underlay) and;
- e) in all locations including occupied spaces where exposed to view, except areas exposed to direct or reflected UV light.
2. The FPS Weathertight System shall:
- a) be installed in accordance with the manufacturers Technical Manual - FPS® Weathertight® System Version 1.3, September 2024 and FPS® Weathertight® Building Underlay System Installation Guide 2024– Version 1.3 and;
- b) not be exposed to the weather for more than 90 days and;
- c) not be installed with metal roof or wall cladding direct fixed.
- d) not be installed directly under direct-fixed trapezoidal or trough profile metal roof cladding.
3. FPS Roof Underlays shall not be used in buildings where the underlay is exposed to direct or reflected UV light.
