Description
Clelands Timber Weatherboard Cladding is an exterior wall cladding for timber-framed buildings.
Clelands Timber Weatherboard Cladding consists of LOSP H3.1 or H3.2 or Protim H3.2 treated solid or finger jointed weatherboards of the following profiles:
Bevel Back
- Standard WB/WBO - sizes 135 x 18mm, 142 x 18mm, 180 x 18mm, 187 x 18mm, 215 x 19mm, 230 x 19mm
- Rebated WBR- sizes 135 x 18mm
- Imperial WBB - sizes 140 x 21mm
Rusticated
- Standard WR - sizes 135 x 18, 180 x 18mm
- Wellingtonian WL- sizes 180 x 19mm, 215 x 19mm, 230 x 19mm
- Hawkes Bay WHB - sizes 135 x 18mm, 180 x 18mm, 215 x 19mm, 230 x 19mm
Vertical Shiplap
- Standard WS - sizes 135 x 18mm and 180 x 18mm
Scope
1. Clelands Timber Weatherboard Cladding is certified for use in buildings:
- a. within the scope of NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings;
- b. within the scope of E2/AS1 para 1.1;
- c. located in a wind zone (as defined in NZS3604:2011) up to and including Very High;
- d. where the risk score (as determined using the E2/AS1 risk matrix) is not greater than 20 and fixed as set out in Conditions 2;
- e. located in any exposure zone as defined in NZS3604 para 4.2.4 (except microclimates);
- f. located no closer than 1m from a relevant boundary
2. Clelands Timber Weatherboard Cladding profiles shall:
- a. for bevelback profile, be fixed horizontally over a nominal 20 mm drained and ventilated cavity where the Risk Score is 13 - 20 (or direct fixed or cavity fixed where the Risk Score is 0 - 12);
- b. for rusticated profile be fixed horizontally over a nominal 20 mm drained and ventilated cavity where the Risk Score is 7 - 20 (or direct fixed or cavity fixed where the Risk Score is 0 - 6);
- c. shiplap profile be fixed vertically over a nominal 20 mm drained and ventilated cavity where the Risk Score is 13 - 20 (or direct fixed or cavity fixed where the Risk Score is 0 - 12).
3. Clelands Timber Weatherboard Cladding shall be:
- a. installed in accordance with the applicable Installation manual:
- i. Clelands Timber Codemarked Bevel Back Weatherboard Manual, Version 4.0, Aug 24;
- ii. Clelands Timber Codemarked Rusticated Weatherboard Manual, Version 4.0 Aug 24;
- iii. Clelands Timber Codemarked Vertical Shiplap Weatherboard Manual, Version 4.0 Aug 24, and
- b. painted using a light colour (with a light reflective value (LRV) greater than or equal to 45%).
4. Steel fixings and fasteners in contact with Protim H.3.2 treated weatherboards shall be in accordance with NZS3604:2011 Tables 4.1 and 4.3, and shall be a minimum of:
- a. Type 304 stainless steel where used in Exposed or Sheltered locations (as defined in NZS3604:2011) or
- b. Hot-dipped galvanised steel for all other locations.
