Description
Certificate holder: Neuchâtel Waterproofing Ltd.
This product certificate covers the use of the Neuchâtel Permatec Waterproofing System as a waterproof roofing membrane.
The Neuchâtel Permatec Waterproofing System is a polymer-modified bitumen hot-applied monolithic membrane installed in two layers over suitable substrates, including:
- flat and profiled metal
- stainless steel components
- in-situ concrete
- precast concrete
- timber substrates
- modified screeds
- cementitious levelling compounds
- approved insulation boards and RAB’s, for example, Gib Weatherline and DensGlass Sheathing.
The membrane has a nominal installed thickness of 6 mm, with a protection layer to achieve a combined system thickness of up to 10 mm.
The Neuchâtel Permatec Waterproofing System components may include:
- PermaTEC EcoWrap
- Anti-Root variants
- PermaFLASH detailing accessories
- PermaGUARD protection layers
- drainage and protection sheets
- inverted insulation boards, and
- compatible ancillary materials.
Scope
1. The Neuchâtel Permatec Waterproofing System is certified for use as a waterproofing membrane in buildings with:
a. Timber substrate structures designed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 as a heavy roof or;
b. Concrete and other specifically designed substrates as detailed in the Description (Section 3), designed in accordance with Verification Method B1/VM1, provided they meet the relevant requirements set out in the requirements of the Neuchâtel Permatec System Installation Guide, 002 October 2025.
2. The Neuchâtel Permatec Waterproofing System must be installed in accordance with the relevant technical and installation guidance:
- a. Neuchâtel Permatec System Installation Guide, 002 October 2025 or;
- b. Neuchâtel Permatec LI Brochure, 004 October 2025.
3. All plywood sheets must be CCA treated to H3.2, with a minimum thickness of 17 mm, complying with AS/NZS 2269.0:2012.
4. The Substrate must be dry before application and with no sharp projections.
5. All work must be carried out by Neuchâtel Waterproofing Ltd approved applicators (contact certificate holder for list of approved applicators).
6. The design and construction of the substrate and movement and control joints in specific to each building and is outside the scope of this certificate.
7. The weathertightness design of all junctions on specifically designed buildings in outside the scope of this certificate.
8. The Neuchâtel Permatec Waterproofing System may be used where the minimum gradient of the substrate structure is completely flat (less than 1:80) including nominally zero pitch.
