Description

GENESIS & GENESIS Signature wall cladding panels are used as external wall cladding and internal wall lining, in all building types subject to the conditions and limitations of use.

GENESIS & GENESIS Signature through coloured Compressed Fibre Cement panels are supplied in thicknesses of 8mm to 12mm and installed as a ventilated facade cladding system onto timber, steel or masonry supporting structures with a proprietary fixing system allowing for thermal expansion.

Scope

1. Genesis & Genesis Signature wall cladding panels are certified for use as external wall cladding on buildings complying with the New Zealand Building Code:

  • a. Designed, while considering the design limits (please refer to the published fixing guide and span tables) of the cladding system:
    • i. in accordance with NZS 3604:2011 for timber framed buildings, or
    • ii. in accordance with NZS 3404:2009 Part 1 and NASH Standard Part 2: May 2019 for Light Steel Framed Buildings, or
    • iii. in accordance with NZS 4229:2013 for masonry buildings, or
    • iv. by Specific Engineering Design in accordance with B1/VM1 Amendment 21, 2 November 2023 by an appropriate chartered professional engineer, and
  • b. within the scope limitations of the NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, third edition, Amendment 10, 5 November 2020, Paragraph 1.1, with a risk score of up to 20, calculated in accordance with the NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Table 2; for all Wind Zones up to, and including Extra High (as defined in NZS 3604:2011) provided that:
    • i. Construction options (20mm drained cavity for risk scores less than or equal to 20 or direct to frame for risk scores of 0-6) are selected in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Tables 1, 2 and 3, and
    • ii. A rigid air barrier is used when located in an Extra High Wind Zone, and
    • iii. Either a flexible building wrap or rigid air barrier in Wind Zones other than Extra High, and
  • c. where Type A Cladding and/or Limited Combustibility materials (as set out in C/AS2, First Edition, Amendment 3, 2 November 2023) are permitted and located anywhere with respect to a relevant boundary (subject to other components of the external wall satisfying fire related code compliance requirements), and
  • d. in all Exposure Zones (except for microclimates) as defined in NZS 3604:2011 paragraph 4.2.4, provided all fasteners and fixings are in accordance with section 4 of NZS 3604:2011, and
  • e. with aluminium window and door joinery that meets the requirements of NZS 4211:2008 including Amendment 1 and installed with suitable vertical jambs and horizontal heads and sills flashings.

2. Genesis & Genesis Signature cladding panels are certified for use as an internal wall lining in buildings, where Material Group Number 1-S materials are permitted as set out in Performance Clause C3.4 (a).

3. Genesis & Genesis Signature wall cladding must be specified, installed and maintained in accordance with the following documentation referenced as the Genesis & Genesis Signature applicable technical literature:

  • a. Paneltec Genesis Installation Manual, June 2025, and
  • b. Paneltec Genesis Signature Installation Manual, June 2025, and
  • c. Paneltec Genesis Typical Details v1, June 2025, and
  • d. Paneltec Genesis Accessories List, March 2025, and
  • e. Genesis & Genesis Signature Technical Data Sheets, as listed in section 9 of this certificate.

4. When required, non-combustible and/or intumescent cavity barriers shall be installed in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution C/AS2, First Edition, Amendment 3, 2 November 2023, Section 5.8.5.

5. Genesis & Genesis Signature wall cladding shall be installed by Paneltec trained and approved building professionals, in accordance with the Genesis & Genesis Signature applicable technical literature.

6. The designer shall provide a signed Declaration for submission with the building consent application that the use of this product in the proposed building work falls within the scope of this certificate and that all design conditions of this certificate have been met.

7. The installer shall supply a signed Declaration that the product has been installed in accordance with the installation conditions of this certificate, for consideration for issuing a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC).

Notes/comments

This certificate has been suspended by the Chief Executive under section 271 of the Building Act 2004. The suspension is effective as of 22 March 2021.
