Description
NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels are used as individual structural components for subfloors, walls, floors, lift-shafts and roof elements.
NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels are engineered wood building elements made of H3.2 treated, machine graded, kiln-dried softwood, finger jointed radiata pine boards, dressed and glued along the faces and edges using MUF adhesive before being arranged in multiple layers (lamellas). Alternating layers are laid perpendicular to each other before being cured under pressure to form one solid rectangular panel (or billet). Individual building elements are then digitally cut from the billet.
The billet maximal dimensions and therefore the maximal dimension for the NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels are as follow:
- Width: 2450mm to 3550mm
- Length:6050mm to 16050mm
- Thickness: 60mm to 360mm
- Lamellas: 3, 5, 7 or 9 layers
Scope
1. NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels are certified for use in the design of buildings by a Chartered Professional Engineer:
- a. with structural design actions determined in accordance with B1/VM1 1st edition Amendment 21 dated 02, November 2023 and
- b. where the mechanical characteristic values and structural performances for the NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels are
- i. For standard layup, taken from NeXTimber® Technical Guide Version Version 2.0 August 2024; or
- ii. For non-standard layup, calculated in accordance to one of the method below using the mechanical characteristic of MGP10 as defined in table H3.1 of NZS AS 1720.1:2022 as input:
- 1. Chapter 3 of FP-Innovation CLT Handbook – 2019; or
- 2. Section 3 to 6 of ProHolz Cross-Laminated Timber Structural Design Volume 1 : 2014; or
- 3. Section 2 and 3 of the Swedish Wood - The CLT Handbook – UK-2022-V2; and
- c. Where integrated in situations requiring fire resistance, the design shall be done in accordance with NeXTimber® Fire Performance Guide Version 2.0 July 2024; and
- d. in applications described in Tables 1, 2, & 3 of NZS 3602:2003 as modified by the Acceptable Solution B2/AS1 amendment 12, 28 November 2019 for radiata pine products up to and including H3.2 Level of Treatment, and
- e. where exposed as a wall or ceiling lining, in areas where a minimum Material Group Number of 3 is required.
2. Junctions and connections between NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels and with building elements are outside the scope of this certification.
3. NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels are certified for use by a Chartered Professional Engineer in the design of the FRR of building elements:
- a. in accordance with, and using the layup in, NeXTimber® Fire Performance Guide Version 2.0 July 2024, and
- b. where the allowable axial compression capacity and FRR is determined using allowable axial compression capacity and FRL for the configuration considered provided in the Warrington Fire FAS210228 RIR1.1 Fire resistance performance of NeXTimber® CLT floors and walls, and GLT beans and columns.
4. Unloading, storage, handling and protection, preassembly check and assembly of NeXTimber® VACSOL AZURE Treated Cross Laminated Structural Timber panels shall be done in compliance with the requirement of NeXTimber® Product site Guide Version 1.0 April 2024.
5. The designer shall provide a signed Declaration for submission with the building consent application that the use of this product in the proposed building work falls within the intended used of the system as described in this certificate and that all design conditions of this certificate have been met.
6. The installer shall supply a signed Declaration that the product has been installed in accordance with the installation conditions identified by the Chartered Professional Engineer responsible for the design, and the applicable requirements of NexTimber® Product site Guide Version 1.0 April 2024 for consideration for issuing a Code Compliance Certificate (CCC).
