ALPOLIC™ FR is an aluminium composite material (ACM) with a 3.0mm mineral core, sandwiched between two skins of 0.5mm thick aluminium metal facings, having a total nominal thickness of 4mm.
The topside surface is finished with Lumiflon™ based fluoropolymer coating as standard, and the backside is finished with a thin polyester coating (wash coating) or a service coating. Finishes are available in Solid, Metallic, Sparkling, Prismatic colours, and Patterns.
ALPOLIC™ FR is available in panels of

ALPOLIC™ FR is intended for use as a component (rain screen) of external cladding. For the avoidance of doubt, ALPOLIC™ FR is not intended for use as a component (rain screen) of external cladding in buildings that are in the
risk group of SI.
ALPOLIC™ FR is also intended for use as an internal wall and ceiling lining including wet areas, and eaves lining.
Scope
1. ALPOLIC™/FR is certified for use only as a component (rain screen) of an external wall cladding system on building where:
- a) Use is limited to buildings with a building height less than 10 m, and
- b) Located:
- The cladding system is installed more than 1 m from a relevant boundary, and
- The building is located within the exposure zones defined by NZS 3604:2011, excluding microclimates, and
- c) Installation within the scope of E2/AS1 paragraph 1.1,1 in wind zones up to and including Extra High, incorporating a drained and ventilated cavity and compliant building underlay, or
- d) Specific engineering design where outside the scope of E2/AS1, demonstrating compliance with E2.3.2 and E2.3.7. and
2. ALPOLIC™/FR is certified for use on buildings:
- a) as an internal wall or ceiling lining, including wet areas, where a Group 2-S material is permitted under NZBC C3.4(a).
