Description
Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards are H3.1 treated radiata pine timber weatherboards for use on external walls on residential and light commercial buildings where domestic construction techniques are used.
The weatherboards are pre-primed and undercoated blue, and each has an identification sticker on the rear with the Garrison® logo and care instructions.
Scope
Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards are for use as a direct-fixed external wall cladding for buildings within the following scope:
- the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1; and,
- constructed with timber framing complying with the NZBC; and,
- with a risk score of 0-6 calculated in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Table 2; and,
- situated in NZS 3604 Wind Zones up to, and including, Very High.
Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards are for use as a cavity-fixed external wall cladding for buildings within the following scope:
- the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1; and,
- constructed with timber framing complying with the NZBC; and,
- with a risk score of 0-20, calculated in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Table 2; and,
- situated in NZS 3604 Wind Zones up to, and including, Extra High
Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards are suitable for use with aluminium window and door joinery that is installed with vertical jambs and horizontal heads and sills. (Note: This Product Certificate relies on the joinery meeting the requirements of NZS 4211 for the relevant Wind Zone.)
Handling and storage of all materials, whether on-site or off-site, are under the control of the building contractor. Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards must be stacked flat, clear off the ground by a minimum of 150 mm and supported on timber bearers at maximum 900 mm centres. They must be kept dry at all times either by storing within an enclosed building, or, when stored externally, an additional secondary cover to the plastic wrapping is required. Care must be taken to avoid damage to edges, ends and the primed surfaces. Weatherboards must always be carried on edge.
All design and building work must be carried out in accordance with Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards Reference Document and this Product Certificate by competent and experienced tradespeople conversant with Garrison® Rusticated Weatherboards. Where the work involves Restricted Building Work (RBW), this must be completed by, or under the supervision of, a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) with the relevant Licence Class.
