Description
DuPont Tyvek® Metal Roof Underlay is a breathable 407 gsm bi-layer spun bonded high density polyethylene and non-woven polypropylene synthetic roof underlay.
It is available in 25m long rolls 1500 mm wide (37.5m²).
DuPont Tyvek® Metal Roof Underlay is certified for use as a self-supporting roof underlay suitable for use in direct contact with metal roofing.
Scope
1. DuPont Tyvek® Metal Roof Underlay is certified for use on roofs:
- a) of timber framed and steel framed buildings within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1 with regards to building height and floor plan area; and situated in
NZS 3604:2011 wind zones up to and including ‘Extra High’, - b) under profiled metal cladding, metal tiles, concrete tiles, clay tiles and asphalt shingles over steel or timber framing,
- c) with a pitch of 3 degrees or greater.
2. DuPont Tyvek® Metal Roof Underlay shall be:
- a) installed in accordance with DuPont Tyvek® Supro / Supro Plus / Pro (and Tyvek Metal) Installation Guide — New Zealand, 17 May 2021
- b) separated from fireplaces, heating appliances, flues and chimneys in accordance with the requirements of NZBC Acceptable Solutions C/AS1 and C/AS2, Paragraph 7.5.9 for the protection of
combustible materials, and - c) protected from sunlight within 30 days.
