Description

DuPont Tyvek® HomeWrap® is a non-woven, water resistant, flammability-rated breathable 62 gsm synthetic wall underlay. It is white with red and blue printing "DuPont Tyvek HomeWrap®" and is available in 30 m long rolls 2.74m and 3.048m wide.

DuPont Tyvek® HomeWrap® is certified for use as a wall underlay.

Scope

1. DuPont Tyvek® HomeWrap® is certified for use:

• a) on timber and steel framed buildings within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1 with regards to building height and floor plan area; and situated in NZS 3604:2011 wind zones up to and including ‘Extra High’
• b) with absorbent wall claddings directly fixed to the frame; or with absorbent or non-absorbent wall claddings installed over an 18mm minimum drained cavity; or with masonry veneer in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1; and with masonry veneer in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 for timber framed buildings or by specific design for steel framed buildings.

2. DuPont Tyvek® HomeWrap® shall be:

• a) installed in accordance with E2/AS1, Clauses 9.1.5 and 9.1.7 and with the DuPont™ Tyvek® HomeWrap® Installation Guide – New Zealand, 7 May 2021
• b) protected from sunlight within 90 days.

3. Contribution to compliance with Building Code clause H1.3.1(b) is conditional on horizontal and vertical laps being securely taped.
