Description

This standard specifies requirements for the design, construction, and performance of heat detectors as used in automatic fire detection and alarm systems.

Scope

This Standard includes an indicator visibility test and requirements regarding IP rating for detectors intended for installation in locations where they will be exposed to moisture.

This Standard applies to heat detectors intended for installation in accordance with AS 1670, connected to the compatible control and indicating equipment (CIE).
