Description

This Standard sets out requirements for all electrical installations in or on buildings, structures and premises, and enumerates the essential requirements for safety from fire or electric shock.

Scope

This standard, which enumerates the essential requirements for ensuring safety from fire and shock, relates to all electrical installations in or on buildings, structures, and premises, but shall not apply

  • (a) to wiring and equipment which is used for any purpose other than the consumption of electricity in premises owned or occupied by an Electricity Supply Authority; or
  • (b) to equipment belonging to the Supply Authority in consumers premises; e.g. the service line or underground service cable, service protective devices, metering equipment and the like.
