Description

1. Altus - Smartfit® 2.0 (Windows and Doors) is a range of thermally broken, fully assembled aluminium window and door joinery units, comprising of Altus Pacific52™ or Pacific60™ Recessed Frame Joinery with the proprietary Smartfit® fixing/flashing system. The joinery units are available with fixed glazing or opening sashes. 

2. The opening sash window styles, including boxed, bay and corner variants, covered by this Appraisal include:

• Awning and Casement
• Bi-fold
• Sliding and Stacking

3. The opening door styles, including boxed, bay and corner variants, covered are:

• Open Out Bi-fold
• Hinged
• Sliding and Stacking

4. Altus - Smartfit® 2.0 (Windows and Doors) incorporates a fixing fin which also serves as an integral sill support. The joinery is designed for use with cavity-based wall cladding systems and creates a weather and airtight barrier around the joinery perimeter when used with Smartfit® flashing tape. The air seal between the liner and framing follows NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 details. 

Scope

Altus - Smartfit® 2.0 (Windows and Doors) has been appraised for use as window and door joinery within the following scope:

• designed and manufactured in accordance with NZS 4211 and SNZ TS 4211 for weathertightness, airtightness and structural design; and,
• in new or existing timber-framed buildings within the scope limitations of NZBC Acceptable  Solution E2/AS1; and,
• with cavity-based cladding systems complying with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, or with cladding systems covered by a valid BRANZ Appraisal or NZ CodeMark Certificate that specify a drained and vented cavity with a minimum depth of 18 mm and a maximum depth of 45 mm; or,
• with masonry veneer complying with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1; and,
• situated in NZS 3604 defined Wind Zones up to, and including, Extra High.
