This is a determination under Part 3 Subpart 1 of the Building Act 2004 made on behalf of the Chief Executive of the Department of Building and Housing

The applicant is the owner, and the other party is the North Shore City Council.

The application arises from the refusal by the territorial authority to issue a code compliance certificate for a 3-year-old house, unless changes are made to its monolithic cladding system.

The question to be determined is whether the monolithic wall cladding as installed to the majority of the new timber-framed external walls of the house, complies with the Building Code. Comment is also made on the timber weatherboards that make up the balance of the external cladding.
