Description

BS 1134 gives practical guidance on the measurement of surface texture using a stylus instrument. It also looks at how these surface-roughness measurements and results should be interpreted.

BS 1134 first defines surface profile standards, before giving clear guidelines on the relevant terminology. It also explains how to analyse the results of tests with common production methods and materials.

The standard then takes an in-depth look at stylus instruments, the measurement preparation and set up of measuring instruments, as well as calibration.
