This Standard specifies the static discharge required to test the performance of electrically operated smoke alarms, containing both detection and alarm facilities.

Scope

This standard sets out the method of testing the ability of an actuating device to withstand static discharges of short duration and relatively high peak values. (See performance requirements in the appropriate device standard.)
