Description

A Project Management Office for earthquake repairs requested a determination to consider the compliance of proposed building work, and whether a building consent was required or whether the proposed work met the test for exempt building work under Schedule 1(a) of the Act.

The matter to be determined was therefore whether the proposed building work complied with the Building Code to the extent required by the Act.

In considering this matter, it was also discussed whether a building consent was required for the proposed work, or whether the work was exempt under Schedule 1 paragraph (a).
