2010/090: Refusal to issue a code compliance certificate for 7 year-old additions and alterations to a house
- Valid from
- Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
This determination arose from the decision of the authority to refuse to issue a code compliance certificate for a 7-year-old addition to a house because it was not satisfied that the building work complied with certain clauses of the Building Code .
The matter determined was whether the authority was correct to refuse to issue a code compliance certificate.
It was considered:
- Whether the external claddings to the addition complied with Clause B2 Durability and Clause E2 External Moisture;
- Whether various other elements in the building work complied with the relevant clauses of the Building Code;
- Whether the elements that made up the building work complied with Clause B2 Durability, taking into account the age of the alterations.
