Description

This order, which comes into force on 26 June 2008, substitutes a later date for the date specified in section 450(3)(b)(ii) of the Building Act 2004 (the Act). The substituted date defers for 9 months the end (if they have not ended earlier, and there is no further deferral) of the following: the period, specified in section 450(3) of the Act, during which a territorial authority may act as a building consent authority (including in relation to a dam) even though the territorial authority has yet to be registered under section 191 of the Act; and the duty, under section 450(3A) of the Act, of a territorial authority that is registered under section 191 of the Act to act as a building consent authority in relation to a dam within that territorial authority's district.
