Description
Building Code Clasue G8 Artificial light requires buildings to have sufficient artificial light to safeguard people from injury. This clause requires spaces within buildings used by people to be provided with adequate artificial lighting to allow safe movement. It requires illuminance of no less than 20 lux at floor level in exitways, access routes and common spaces within buildings. (NZBC Clause F6 Visibility in escape routes applies in the event of main lighting failure).
