Description
NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation is a site-applied closed cell, medium density 2-part polyurethane spray-in-place foam thermal insulation product.
NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation is a thermal insulation product for walls, ceilings, roofs and under floors.
Scope
1. NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation is certified for use:
- a. In timber framed buildings to NZS3604:2011 Timber-Framed Buildings, or
- b. In light steel framed buildings to NASH Standard Part 2:2019 Light Steel Framed Buildings,
- c. Applied to metal, concrete, timber, wall or roof underlay,
- d. located in any climate zone.
2. NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation shall not be installed as an exposed internal surface in a building or part of building where there is a requirement to comply with Building Code clause C3.4(a). Where NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation is installed in a space where the surface lining does have a requirement to comply with C3.4(a), NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation shall be covered with a rigid sheet product of gypsum plasterboard, plywood, solid wood, wood composite, fibre-reinforced cement, concrete or masonry that is not less than 9mm thick.
3. NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation shall be installed:
- a. by a NZ Foam Limited trained and approved installer, and
- b. in accordance with the NZFOAM - Spray Application Manual version 4.4, 22 September 2021, and
- c. with sufficient thickness to achieve the R-value specified, but not less than 45mm, and
- d. with clearance as required around recessed light fittings, chimneys, flues and other hot surfaces, and
- e. be protected from the weather within 6 months.
4. The installer shall provide a signed declaration/record of installation for submission with an application for a Code Compliance Certificate that all installation conditions of this CodeMark certificate have been met, and that the foam has been installed to the specified thickness.
5. Establishing compliance with the performance criteria in Building Code clauses H1.3.1(a) and H1.3.2E shall be in accordance with either of the following:
- a. the calculation method in Acceptable Solution H1/AS1 (Fifth Edition Amendment 1) or the modelling method in H1/VM1 (Fifth Edition Amendment 1), for all housing and buildings up to 300 m²
- b. the calculation method in H1/AS2 (First Edition Amendment 1) or the modelling method in H1/VM2 (First Edition Amendment 1), for buildings greater than 300 m².
6. The thermal resistivity of NZ FOAM ORANGE STD (Ecofoam RS240) insulation is dependent on the thickness of insulation. For the purpose of calculating the thermal resistance R-value shall be taken as 3.33 m²·K/W per 100 mm thickness of insulation.
