Description
Pauloid Synthetic Roof Underlay is a self-supporting synthetic building underlay for use under roof claddings.
Pauloid Synthetic Roof Underlay consists of a micro-porous water resistant film laminated to two layers of non-woven spun-bonded polyolefin. It is black on the top face and white on the bottom face. It is supplied in rolls 1500 mm wide x 34 m long, plastic wrapped which contains a label which has printed on it the CodeMark Mark of Conformity.
Scope
1. Pauloid Synthetic Roof Underlay is certified for use on timber or light steel framed roofs on buildings:
- a) within the limitations of NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, Paragraph 1.1 with regards to building height and floor plan area, and
- b) situated in wind zones up to and including Extra High (as defined in NZS3604), and
- c) with masonry tile, metal tile or profiled metal roof cladding, and
- d) with a minimum roof pitch of 3 degrees, and
- e) where the underlay is not exposed to view in occupied spaces.
2. Bayonet Pauloid Synthetic Roof Underlay shall be:
- a) installed in accordance with the Bayonet Pauloid Synthetic Roof Underlay Product Technical Statement & Installation Guide Nov 2021, and
- b) where the roof pitch is between 3 degrees and 10 degrees, be installed horizontally spanning or vertically, spanning no greater than 1200mm between supports, and be supported by a corrosion resistant roof underlay support, or
- c) where the roof pitch is greater than 10 degrees, installed vertically or horizontally spanning no greater than 1200mm between supports, and
- d) separated from fireplaces, heating appliances, flues and chimneys in accordance with the requirements of NZBC Acceptable Solutions C/AS1 and C/AS2, Paragraph 7.5.9 for the protection of combustible materials.
3. Pauloid Synthetic Roof Underlay shall not be exposed to the weather or UV light for more than 7 days.
