Description

The CNYD building panel system consists of wall panels prefabricated using LVL timber framed panels with plasterboard interior lining and fibre cement board fitted to the exterior face, with glass wool insulation in the framing cavity.

The exterior face provides a substrate for the attachment of a cladding system. The panels are 1206mm wide and 2800mm high and two thickness options: nominal 90mm (overall thickness 116mm) or nominal 140mm (overall thickness 166mm).

Scope

This certification covers the use of CNYD panels as structural elements for internal or external walls for residential housing, where:

1. The building is specifically designed in accordance with B1/VM1 (Amd 15) (referencing the design actions of AS/NZS1170.1:2002 Structural design actions and the capacity design of NZS3603:1993 Amd 4 Timber Structures), and

    • is within the scope of Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 External Moisture (3rd edition Amd 9) para 1(a, b, c), and
    • the weathertightness risk score, as defined in E2/AS1, is not greater than 20; or

2. the building is within the scope of NZS3604:2011 para 1.1.2, subject to the following limitations:

    • the building is single level, and located in a wind zone up to HIGH (as defined in NZS3604:2011), and
    • the building height with roof is no greater than 3m; and the maximum height of the wall panel is 2810mm; and
    • the building is within the scope of E2/AS1 (3rd edition Amd 9) para 1(a, b, c), and
    • the weathertightness risk score, as defined in E2/AS1, is not greater than 20; and
    • the maximum roof loaded dimension is 3m; and
    • the maximum eave width is 600mm; and
    • the maximum roof pitch is 40 degrees and the maximum roof rafter/truss spacing is 600mm; and

3. The building is located in any exposure zone, excluding microclimates (as defined in NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings)
