Scope
Hilti CFS-SL have been Appraised for use as fire collars for penetrations in fire rated walls and floors for sealing around electrical and communication services.
Hilti CFS-SL are suitable for use through the following fire rated systems with fire resistance ratings (FRR) of up to -/120/120:
- Plasterboard lined walls with at least 26 mm lining thickness on each side, with light gauge steel or timber framing with a minimum overall wall thickness of 100mm. Where the CFS-SL S/M is used the minimum wall thickness is 100mm and maximum wall thickness is 200mm. Where the CFS-SL L sleeve is used the minimum wall thickness is 200mm and maximum wall thickness is 300mm; and,
- Concrete or concrete masonry walls with a minimum density of 550 kg/m3, where the CFS-SL S/M is used the minimum wall thickness is 100mm and maximum wall thickness is 200mm. Where the CFS-SL L sleeve is used the minimum wall thickness is 200mm and maximum wall thickness is 300mm; and
- Concrete floors with a minimum density of 550 kg/m3, where the CFS-SL S/M is used the minimum thickness of 150 mm and a maximum thickness of 200 mm. Where the CFS-SL L sleeve is used the minimum wall thickness is 200mm and maximum wall thickness is 300mm
Hilti CFS-SL must be used in closed, internal spaces, protected from excessive moisture, solvents, oxidizing agents, acides and alkalis. They should not be exposed to ultra violet (UV) light in service.
