Description

This Standard provides guidance to building and building services designers and operating staff responsible for running the services of a building in relation to the control of hygiene in its air and water systems.

Main emphasis on large industrial, commercial and residential accommodation buildings that contain large numbers of people and have air conditioning and extensive water systems.

It sets principles of design, installation, operation and maintenance which will assist in reducing the likelihood of outbreaks of infectious diseases originating from air and water systems.
