Description

This determination arose from the decision of the territorial authority to refuse to issue a code compliance certificate for an 11-year-old house because it was not satisfied that the building work complied with clauses B2 and E2 of the Building Code.

The matters for determination were whether the cladding as installed on the house complied with clause E2 "External Moisture" of the Building Code and whether the elements that make up the house complied with Building Code clause B2 "Durability", taking into account the age of the building work.
