Description

This application for determination arose from the refusal of the territorial authority to issue a code compliance certificate because there wass doubt whether the cladding systems used to construct the complex complied with the Building Code.

It considered whether there were reasonable grounds that the external wall cladding systems as installed ("the claddings") on the complex complied with the Building Code.

"External wall cladding systems as installed" means the components of the systems (such as the backing sheets, the flashings, the joints and the plaster and/or the coatings) as well as the way the components were installed and work together.
