Description
DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape is a self-adhesive, pressure sensitive, polyethylene membrane material tape with a release backing.
It is branded with the DriStud Cool Tape branding.
Scope
DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape in intended for use in new and existing buildings in conjunction with an underlay or rigid air barrier. It is used around framed joinery openings and penetrations, providing a secondary weather resistant barrier.
It is designed to be used in conjunction with air seals and joinery flashing systems, but not as a substitute.
DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape may also be used at joinery heads to seal flashing upstands to the building wrap. Where a rigid underlay has been installed, DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape may be used to seal all junctions and penetrations. It is suitable for use with timber and steel framed buildings as well as masonry structures.
1. DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape is certified for use in buildings
- a) located in wind zones up to extra high as defined in NZS3604:2011 Timber-framed buildings
- b) on DriStud Wall Wrap and rigid air barriers made from plywood, OSB or fibre cement including James Hardie Board.
2. DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape shall be
- a) installed in accordance with the DriStud Cool Window Flashing Tape Installation Guides - for Flexible Wall Underlay (Rev 02 November 2018) and for Rigid Air Barrier Systems (Rev 02 November 2018) (available at www.dristud.co.nz ),
- b) installed at an ambient and substrate temperature greater than -6°C
- c) exposed to direct sunlight for not more than 60 days.
