Scope

This Good Practice Guide deals with timber wall claddings on both direct fixed and cavity construction. Claddings include horizontal rusticated and bevel-back weatherboards, vertical shiplap and board and batten weatherboards and sheet plywood in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1 (third edition). Also covered are the installation of timber claddings to steel framing, the use and detailing of board-on-board and plywood weatherboards, all of which are outside the scope of E2/AS1.
